A New Kind of Writers Group
What is My Story? It's a unique opportunity to accomplish the goal of writing your true life stories within a trusted community setting where small groups write and return to share stories weekly. Fall groups are forming now—visit our events page for more details.
What kinds of stories will you hear in a My Story group? Stories run the gamut from nostalgic to hilarious and even heartbreaking. We write about the good and the hard things—most importantly, about the pivotal moments in our lives. Common themes include faith, redemption, discovery, family, overcoming, and cultural journeys.
Why make the time to write your stories and read them out loud with fellow writers? The benefits are numerous:

-
Deep connection
-
Flourishing creativity
-
Encouraging and helpful feedback
-
Motivation to accomplish your writing projects
-
Freedom and healing in writing about the hard things
-
A legacy to leave for your family and friends
-
And much more...
If you've always wanted to write your stories, but haven't gotten around to it, joining a My Story group might be for you!
-
You will gather weekly with your small group (6 to 10 people) and write in between sessions.
-
During each session, several participants will volunteer to read what they have written.
-
After each person reads, others will provide feedback.

Fall 2026 groups will begin in late August/early September. A one-time fee of $30 includes your My Story guidebook. Check out locations and dates, and register today!
-
Ages 21+ and all cultures are welcome.
-
Each group convenes for 10 consecutive weeks.
-
Please consider your ability to commit to attending every week and arriving on time. Consistent attendance is important for building trust and connection within your group.
-
Groups often round out the end of their season with a celebration event. Watch a video of readings from one of our events here and view a gallery of photos here. (Participation in celebration events is encouraged but not required.)
